Baja Fresh Manager Doesn't Know Gluten Free

How can a Baja Fresh Manager not know what items are gluten-free?

That is the lamest of the lame. Happened in North Hollywood, CA Riverside location.

I kept on exploring if the bowls were gluten free. She kept on mentioning the vegetables.
I don't think she even know what gluten-free meant. I don't think she even know what food allergens were or if the food she served had them.

Yes, I would promote that person to a managerial position--if I was stupid and wanted to open myself up to a lawsuit.

There was no one other to ask since she was the manager.

Very lame and potentially injury-causing.

Of course, their customer comment page doesn't load. More Lameness.

Update; I learned the hard and too soft way that it wasn't gluten free. Maybe I should return their food exactly how it came out

Natural Products Expo West: Glutino Animal Crackers

These were gone very quickly. I love Glutino’s products and their animal crackers were no exception. I was sorry that they were gone.

But they were so good while it lasted. Major yum!

Nasoya was handing out stacks of this at the end of Natural Products Expo West. They were so good. So flavorful. You can eat it right out of the package. This was one of my favorite from the show.

Pillsbury Gets into Gluten Free—Really?

I do not approve of this. Pillsbury getting into gluten free products is just capitalizing on a trend. Being sensitive to gluten free products is not a fad or a choice and it just seems the company is banking on a marketable trend as if it’s a gimmick.

I am in favor of gluten free designated facilities and will only support gluten free products from those companies.

I was told that they are licensed from Huy Fong. Unfortunately it has wheat in it so I couldn’t try it out.

But it sounds great!

Natural Products Expo West: High on Security, Low on Use

Well the legionnaires weren’t asked to help out at the Natural Products Expo West. That was great. No disrespect or discrimination intended. As I explained in earlier posts, the elderly workers just weren’t able to read driver’s license quickly. And one I guessed didn’t understand that people washed their hands which wore off hand stamps. 

What this year did have is a long line or Trade Show Temps who were situated at the entrance of the convention center itself. Every time you went into the convention center, you had to show your ID. That wasn’t much of a problem.

What was a problem is that once you exited the convention center on Sunday after the show closed, you couldn’t get back in. Not to use the bathroom, not to return to your friends who were holding heavy bags for you, nothing. I thought it was complete overkill. There was also a sort of Express line for those who bought superpasses. If you didn’t have one, you had to go down several doors. That line was seldom used. So there were a lot of security doing nothing. And with two to four security for each door—not entry, DOOR—you had to squeeze by them just to get in after being checked.

I thought it was a lot of money spent by the event for very little in return.

There was no enforcement of the 1-bag rule even at the end of the show.

Somewhere in between what they did last year and this year would be preferred.
